The Ghost Dance was a religious movement introduced by the prophet, Wovoka, that spread throughout the Plains tribes in the late 1800s. It's followers believed if they danced the sacred Ghost Dance, their dead relatives would rise, the buffalo would return to the earth, and the white intruders would vanish.
