 SKU# 9062  Gold Strike-a-Light Pouch
Gold Strike-a-Light Pouch  44.95
Stock No. RSI-Strike-A-LightBagGol

Because native american clothing did not include pockets, pouches of all kinds served a similar purpose. One common style was the Strike-A-Light pouch. As the name suggests, beaded strike-a-light pouches, rectangular in shape, decorated with tinkling cones or fringe and having short flaps, were used throughout the 1800's by the Lakota, Apache, and other tribes to carry a strike-a-light steel or a pair of flint stones, and later on matches and often ration coupons.

This Strike-a-Light pouch measures approximately 5 1/2" wide by 6 3/4" long, with another 2" counting the fringes and brass or aluminum cones. It has a double drawstring closure. This bag is available in your choice of genuine buckskin colors.

The beadwork and leather color shown is representative. Beadwork patterns will vary. You may choose the primary background color of the bead rosette using the dropdown menus below. You can also choose your deerskin leather color and cone colors from the dropdown menus below.
