Deer hooves (toes) and dew claws make great decorations for native American inspired craft projects and natural jewelry projects. They are period correct for all reenactment periods.

The larger hooves form the toes at the end of the deer leg and are the part they walk on. They average around 1.5 to 2 inches wide by 2 to 2.5 inches tall. Sizes will vary depending on the size of the deer they were harvested from. These measurements are just an estimate, sizes will vary somewhat.

If you are ordering a 5 or 10 count package, we will try to mach uniform sizes if possible, but expect assorted sizes when you order large quantites.

We also have the smaller deer dew claws. They are the smaller toe on the back of the leg that the deer does not walk on. Dew claws average 1/2 to 3/4 inch wide by 3/4 to 1 inch tall. They are a great choice for decorating purses, dreamcatchers, medicine bags, and other smaller projects.

Prices shown are per item, but this item is sold in packages of 5, 10, 100, or 1,000. Prices get cheaper when you buy larger quantities.

If you are ordering quantities of 1,000 or more, use our Contact Us form to request a Discount Coupon to reduce the postage. Our shopping cart charges more than it should, since this item is light and fairly small for the number of items.

These hooves and dew claws are deboned, cleaned and ready to drill. They are easy to drill with a carpenter's electric drill, or if you have a surgical S needle, they are easy to drill by hand by using this needle with a twisting motion. It usually takes only a few seconds to drill through by either method. The S needle is also the best thing I've found for sewing leather.

Deer parts are illegal in some states, so be sure to check with your local Fish & Game Department before ordering to be sure they are legal where you live. Unfortunately, due to all the restrictions on deer parts, we can only ship this item to the United States.
