 SKU# 9064  Beige Strike-a-Light Pouch
Beige Strike-a-Light Pouch  44.95
Stock No. RSI-Strike-A-LightBagBei

Because native american clothing did not include pockets, pouches of all kinds served a similar purpose. One common style was the Strike-A-Light pouch. As the name suggests, beaded strike-a-light pouches, rectangular in shape, decorated with tinkling cones or fringe and having short flaps, were used throughout the 1800's by the Lakota, Apache, and other tribes to carry a strike-a-light steel or a pair of flint stones, and later on matches and often ration coupons.

This Strike-a-Light pouch measures approximately 5 1/2" wide by 6 3/4" long, with another 2" counting the fringes and brass or tin cones. It has a double drawstring closure. This bag is available in your choice of genuine buckskin or cowhide suede.

The beadwork and leather color shown is representative. You may choose the colors you prefer for the leather, cones, and the primary bead color from the dropdown menu below. Bead patterns will vary. You can choose the primary background color for the beadwork.
