Amethyst Agate Horsehair Dreamcatcher
89.99

This dream catcher uses many natural amethyst stones in the web and an approximately 2" x 4" agate slice hangs from the center. The agate slice is semi-translucent and really looks pretty in the sunlight, which doesn't really show up in this picture. The agate slice is surrounded by two leather fringes decorated with glass beads and colorful feathers. This dreamcatcher is available in a 9", 12" or 15" diameter. The length is approximately 30-34 inches, depending on the diameter.

Hand crafted in the USA.

The hoop is wrapped with lavender suede and it has 10 long suede leather streamers which are decorated with black and translucent amethyst glass crow beads (if you'd prefer crow beads in other colors, leave a comment in the comment box on your checkout form) and your choice of brown turkey (shown), duck, white turkey, pheasant, or colorful cockque feathers.

The feathers are a by-product that would have otherwise been thrown away-- no birds were killed specifically for their feathers.

Amethyst has traditionally been used as a dream stone and to help insomnia. Ancient Egyptians used amethyst to guard against guilty and fearful feelings. It has been worn as protection from self-deception, as well as a protection against witchcraft. The amethyst stone has long been used to open the spiritual and psychic centers, making it one of the power stones.

detail of amethyst stonesAmethyst is a gemstone often worn by healers, as it has the power to focus energy. Amethyst helps overcome fears and cravings. It also helps relieve headaches, problems in the blood and breathing problems. Amethyst keeps the air and life force in the home clean and positive. When placed in a window that receives sun most of the day amethyst is very beneficial to use in healing and to heal negativity in the home. Place Amethyst in moonlight and everyone in the home will be feeling calmer.

Feathers of any kind cannot be imported into New Zealand, but we can leave the feathers off by request.

The Dream Catcher Legend
The dream catcher comes from an Ojibwe legend. According to the legend, hanging a dream catcher near a sleeping person causes the bad dreams to be caught in the web, while the good dreams enter through the hole in the middle and drift down the feathers to the sleeping person. Then in the morning, sunlight enters through the hole to melt the bad dreams away.

The beads in a dream catcher represent bad dreams that have been caught. A dreamcatcher can be made more powerful by adding personal totems that have significance to the owner of the dream catcher, such as fur, feathers, stones, beads or claws or bits of horn from the owner's totem animals.

Not produced by a tribal member or a particular indian tribe.
