It is the beginning of the New Year,

I am still here.

I look forward to tomorrow,

Now that my heart feels no sorrow

To the rising and the Creator I will pray,

And ask that they stand by me yet another day.

I will not cry silently any longer,

Because the heart of Mother Earth has made me stronger,

I will continue to forgive.
