Eastern Shoshone Indian days have been held for over 50 years, keeping traditions and dancing passed to each generation. There are dancing and drum competitions, Indian Tacos, Arts & Crafts and fun!
This powwow is held at the Ft Washakie pow wow grounds.
The weather in Wyoming can be chilly to hot in June, so bring appropriate wear. The seating provided here can be limited depending on turn out, so it’s best to bring your own lawn chair or a blanket to sit on if you would like a place to sit down.
This pow wow is advertised as the biggest pow wow in Wyoming.

Parking is available on the grounds at no charge.
Pets:
Pets are not encouraged. All pets must be kept on a leash and you are expected to clean up after them. Keep animals away from the dance arena, it is considered disrespectful to bring pets to this sacred area.
Camping / RV Parks / Motels
A free primitive camping area is provided on the grounds. Some tribal members have a designated family camp area that is reserved. Please respect these markers. All other camping is on a first come, first served basis, so come early to get the best spots. Cold water and Porta-Potties are provided. (Bring your own toilet paper, out houses run out quickly).
If you aren’t staying on the powwow grounds, it’s best to book accommodations at least six months to a year in advance, especially because this powwow is in a rural area where there aren’t a lot of motels,and is during the peak tourist season in that area.
