Deganawida – Prophet and orator knowns as the Great Peacemaker.

‘Deskaheh (Levi General) (March 15, 1873 – June 27, 1925) – Cayuga hereditary chief and appointed speaker noted for his persistent efforts to get recognition for his people. He is most famous for bringing Iroquois concerns before the League of Nations in the 1920s.

Gary Farmer – Actor, musician, and publisher.

Hiawatha – Wiseman and orator.

Ely S. Parker (Donehogawa) – He was a Seneca Indian of the Wolf clan. Parker served under President Ulysses S. Grand on the Board of Indian Commissioners. For a while he lived in the Canadian woods under traditional Iroquoian style. Parker served as military secretary to General Grant. Parker came under attack in an investigation in the Bureau of Indian Affairs about corruption. Government records say he was thrown out he had really resigned his position. Parker was also the author of a book called The Character of Grant.
