This immitation eagle smudging feather is wrapped with genuine buckskin and has a buckskin fringed handle. A smudging feather is used to move the smoke around when smudging for purification or healing.

It could also be used as a talking feather to maintain order in communication circles. Whoever holds the feather has the floor and everyone else is forbidden to speak until they pass the feather, indicating they are done with what they had to say and someone else can speak.
