What is the cultural significance of pronghorns to native americans? Posted on Thursday, November 05 @ 16:03:15 CST (247 reads)
|

Question:
Can you tell me what cultural and religious significance the pronghorn antelope has for Native Americans in the West? (I know the answer will have to be general but if you have examples from different tribes that would be great!).

Activists->Peltier,: The fight continues over whether Leonard Peltier should be paroled Posted on Friday, July 31 @ 23:27:06 CDT (412 reads)
|

BISMARCK, N.D. - The North Dakota reservation where imprisoned American
Indian activist Leonard Peltier grew up has made arrangements to incorporate
him back into society should he be paroled, Peltier's attorney said Tuesday.
Peltier is serving two life sentences for the execution-style deaths of FBI
agents Jack Coler and Ronald Williams during a June 26, 1975, standoff on
South Dakota's Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. He was convicted in Fargo,
N.D., in 1977. He has claimed the FBI framed him, which the agency denies,
and he has unsuccessfully appealed his conviction numerous times.

MailBag Archive: Where can I find a war tomahawk? Posted on Friday, February 27 @ 11:25:32 CST (4077 reads)
|

QUESTION:
Hi Folks !
Where can i Find a war tomahawk?
I guess the Indians didn't fight with a Tomahawk, which is at the same time a peacepipe. The hole throughout the shaft for smoke, would make the Tomahawk weak.
The back of the blade (Tomahawk) must have been a sharp peak or dull, to crush human head.
Have you a good picture for a Tattoo? I need one as well aa an origanal picture of a Peace pipe.
I know the end of a pipe was make of a special stone. What is the name of it?
I would be very happy if you can find anybody to send a few pictures of these two things.

|

Wahkon writes Hopefully, Pope Benedict XVI will soon formally revoke the 15th century papal bulls which were primarily responsible for the horrible atrocities committed against Indigenous Peoples and then lead the Catholic Church and Western “Civilization” through a process of radical transformation. And by doing so, lead humanity into a new age, wherein Indigenous Peoples will be given their due respect.

|

Wahkon writes The indigenous peoples living in this land our still being denied three of their--endowed by the Creator--unalienable equality rights, or fundamental human rights. The right to absolute root ownership of their scared traditional/ancestral homelands, the right to be recognized and treated as full independent sovereign nations and the--freedom of religion--right to fully re-establish their traditional religions within their sacred ancestral homelands.
