The bear is a symbol of power and protection. As territorial guardian of the Red Earth, he is the encircling sentinel of the Earth Mother and Place of Emergence. The bear represents the west. This fetish also involves healing, not only the body, but also the spirit. The bear symbolizes tremendous power and strength. Since it hibernates every year, it is associated with change. Therefore, the bear fetish offers strength in the face of adversity during the transitions and changes of a person's life. The double lines, or pairs of lines, in the red heartline symbol superimposed on the bear represents a unity of souls. They end over the area where the heart lies. This is why they are called heart lines. When you beat a drum, you can hear the heartbeat of the universe, and we realize that all things live are interconnected with each other. After some time, a group of people around a drum will unconsciously synchronize their heartbeats to the drumbeats.
