This dance staff is a representation of a mature Golden Eagle. The eagle head is carved from resin that looks like bone and the foot is cast in resin from a mold made from a real eagle foot and then carefully hand painted. It has four meticulously hand painted mature Golden Eagle feathers.









This staff is wrapped with authentic black buckskin with long fringes along the handle. The buckskin fringes are decorated with glass crow beads, and silver colored beads and cones. Each fringe is tipped with long strands of horse hair.

Many traditional Northern Pow Wow dancers carry a similar dance staff.

The staff has a 5" section beaded with #11 glass seed beads. There are also three sections of arctic fox fur.

This eagle dance staff is approximately 34" long from the tip of the head to the end of the foot. It is about 26" tall, measured at the longest point of the horse hair tipped fringes.

The eagle is the most sacred symbol of the Plains Tribes. It is said to be a messenger to the Gods because it flies higher than any other bird. The Fox fur represents mental clarity, and horse hair represents stamina, which is needed by the pow wow dancer.

This eagle dance staff can be shipped internationally. However, feathers cannot be shipped to New Zealand. Be sure all these animal parts can be imported to your country before ordering. The feathers are actually turkey feathers that have been hand painted to resemble the tail feathers of a mature golden eagle. We willl not be responsible for items seized by customs agents.
