This buffalo lance has 22 imitation eagle feathers suspended from a braided buckskin strap. It is covered with rabbit and beaver fur. The spear point is hand forged iron and measures approximately 7 inches x 3 inches. Overall length of the lance is 64 inches x 15 inches, including the feathers.

In the old days, feathers were added when a distinquished kill was made that was a milestone or beyond the ordinary, or when a warrior counted coup on an enemy.
