Mr. Singer is well known for stylized animal art in his work. The Buffalo is one of the most sacred of all animals to many native american tribes. The buffalo represents abundance. During the heyday of the Plains Indian cultures, every part of the buffalo was utilized for food, clothing, tools and weapons.
Over 60 million buffalo, (more correctly called bison) swept the plains of North America until the mid 1800s. Today there are a little over 3,500 wild buffalo remaining, most of them in Yellowstone National Park, where they are protected.
