This one-of-a-kind acrylic painting is done on a turkey tail feather. There are hundreds of brush strokes in the very fine detailing of the wolf. The pictures don't do it justice.
The main feather is accented with smaller turkey fluff feathers and pink and black glass crow beads on leather streamers. The base of the feather is wrapped in fur.
It is framed under glass on a faux brown leather background. The frame looks like wood and is decorated with a small copper bead pattern around the glass. The frame measures approximately 14 inches x 7 inches.
This painting is signed and dated '06 by Ohio artist Kathy Allen and is ready to hang.

In native american teachings, the wolf is considered a brother because his family (pack) structure is so similar to our own. He is also a teacher, imparting importand knowledge and life lessons to those with this totem.
As an animal totem, the turkey is called the "giveaway eagle" or the "life giver." It is associated with shared blessings, harvest, fertility, grounding and self-sacrifice.
