This dreamcatcher is 12" in diameter and approximately 48" long as shown with golden pheasant feathers and pheasant tail feathers. It will be 8 to 12" shorter with other feather combinations. This dreamcatcher is wrapped in your choice of buckskin leather colors (shown in hot pink)and has 14 long leather fringes decorated with dozens of small feathers attached with traditional glass crow beads, and a large feather held on by a brass cone at the tip of each fringe. The web has real coral pieces, glass and metal beads, and a quartz crystal point, as well as a few focal feathers on the web.

The dream catcher comes from an Ojibwe legend. According to the legend, hanging a dream catcher near a sleeping person causes the bad dreams to be caught in the web, while the good dreams enter through the hole in the middle and drift down the feathers to the sleeping person. Then in the morning, sunlight enters through the hole to melt the bad dreams away.

The beads in a dream catcher represent bad dreams that have been caught.



A dreamcatcher can be made more powerful by adding personal totems that have significance to the owner of the dream catcher, such as fur, feathers, stones, beads or claws or bits of horn from the owner's totem animals.
