Silver Fox Fan
[AAA-CPAASilverFoxFan]
$39.95
6+ $29.95
12+ $25.00
100+ $14.95

This prayer fan contains barred turkey feathers, accented with a colorful turkey, macaw, or parrot feather. The handle is buckskin wrapped and ends with a silver fox tail. The fringes on the handle are decorated with glass, brass, or wood beads.

Prayer Fans were used to fan the sacred herbs over the person being blessed or treated for an illness.

This could also be used as a Talking Stick. Talking sticks were used in tribal councils to maintain order. Whoever held the talking stick had the floor and no one else was allowed to speak until he passed the stick, indicating he had finished what he had to say on the subject being discussed.

The fan shown is representative. Because this is a hand made item, each one will vary slightly.

This item can be shipped internationally. However, feathers cannot be imported to New Zealand.

Read the artist's profile and see more of her work.

Not produced by a tribal member or a particular indian tribe.
