Shoshone-Bannock History in Idaho PART I OF II: 2008's historic Idaho Democratic Convention, held in Boise, ID, June 12-14, invited Idaho Native American Tribal members from the Shoshone-Bannock/Fort Hall, Shoshone-Paiute/Duck Valley, Nez Perce, and Coeur D'Alene tribal communities to take an active part in the convention activities. On June 12th, the Idaho AFL-CIO hosted a Democratic picnic for convention goers. Mr. Ted Howard, Cultural Resource Director, Duck Valley, spoke to picnic participants about the Shoshone-Paiute-Bannock history in the Boise Valley area. 9:49 minutes.
Part II-Grand Entry, Flag Ceremony and Recessional All convention tribal members participated in the grand entry at the beginning of the June 13th Idaho Democratic Convention gathering followed by a flag ceremony and presentation by Mr. Lee Juan Tyler, Council Member, Shoshone-Bannock/Fort Hall community. Fort Hall and Duck Valley singers and drummers played songs for the grand entry, flag ceremony and recessional.

"My goal is to touch the sensitivity of those who view my work, and to help bring awareness of spiritual worth in all of God's creation," Ms. Buchfink says of her work.
Marie Buchfink began painting full time after a successful teaching career as an art instructor in the Ohio school system.
Marie Buchfink was born in Muskegon, Michigan. Ms. Buchfink graduated from
Michigan State University with a B.A. Degree in Fine Arts and Art History.
Marie Buchfink received her teaching degree at Ohio Northern University and acquired post graduate work at Maryville College, St. Louis, Missouri; Delta College, Saginaw, Michigan; and Des Moines Area Community College, Des Moines, Iowa.
Marie has exhibited her work throughout the Midwest and the Southwestern United States, winning numerous museum awards and exhibiting in galleries and one man shows.
Ms. Buchfink's paintings have been collected by many major companies, private individuals and museums. The spirituality expressed in Marie Buchfink's artwork sets her apart from most realistic artists in that it expresses her deep concern for man's humanity towards man and all forms of nature.
