Shoshone-Bannock History in Idaho PART I OF II: 2008's historic Idaho Democratic Convention, held in Boise, ID, June 12-14, invited Idaho Native American Tribal members from the Shoshone-Bannock/Fort Hall, Shoshone-Paiute/Duck Valley, Nez Perce, and Coeur D'Alene tribal communities to take an active part in the convention activities. On June 12th, the Idaho AFL-CIO hosted a Democratic picnic for convention goers. Mr. Ted Howard, Cultural Resource Director, Duck Valley, spoke to picnic participants about the Shoshone-Paiute-Bannock history in the Boise Valley area. 9:49 minutes.
Part II-Grand Entry, Flag Ceremony and Recessional All convention tribal members participated in the grand entry at the beginning of the June 13th Idaho Democratic Convention gathering followed by a flag ceremony and presentation by Mr. Lee Juan Tyler, Council Member, Shoshone-Bannock/Fort Hall community. Fort Hall and Duck Valley singers and drummers played songs for the grand entry, flag ceremony and recessional.

Mill Race Park is an open air park with contemporary designed shelters, amphitheater, observation tower, playground, and a covered bridge.
Mill Race Park is at the edge of downtown Columbus, Indiana with convenient access, and parking. Provisions are also included for physically challenged individuals.
How to get there
From I 65 N At W Jonathan Moore Pike, start out going East on IN-46 E by turning right. Go 1.98 miles to Hwy 11 North. Go North on Hwy 11 to 5th Street. Entrance is on corner of 5th St and Lindsey.
The art
Artworks will be presented for sale in traditional, contemporary, or folkart styles and all artists will be on the site.
Admission
Individual patron tickets may be purchased at the entrance of the show.
Prices are $5.00 per adult and $3.00 per child under 12.
Ticket discounts are available by printing and bringing the coupon available online at the Chautauqua of the Arts web site.
Artist Info
A booth is for one artist or shared by husband and wife or two persons collaborating on the same media. A significant portion of each work must be designed and or executed entirely by the artist.
The application process is juried and the deadline for applications is May 1, 2002.
Single Booth spaces are 10' x 10'. Double Spaces, End Spaces and Entry Area Spaces are available at extra charge. Booth fees are:
Single Space 10' x 10' $150
End Space 10' x 10' $200
Double Space 10' x 25' $300
End + Single Space 10' x 25' $350
Entry Area Space -- additional charge for location $ 75
Awards totaling $2,000 are given at this show.
