The long grass that grew on the Midwest and southern plains was used to make grass houses.
Grass houses are similar to tipi in the fact that they
used long poles erected in a circle but the area of the circle was
much larger. The frame as the name implies was covered with the long
grass that grew on the Midwest and southern plains. Native American
groups such as the Caddo and the Wichita built grass homes.
