| Educ->Funding/Grants: Tribal Training/Tribal Higher Education Scholarships for Alaskan Natives |
Posted on Thursday, March 24 @ 09:59:30 PST | |
The Tribal Training Grant program helps eligible Alaska Natives, American Indians and Native Hawaiians residing within the Cook Inlet Region obtain short-term certification or vocational training for job enhancement and/or employability. Funding is need-based and available on a first-come, first-completed basis and is not intended to cover the full cost of training.
The Tribal Higher Education Scholarship program provides scholarship awards for eligible CIRI shareholders and descendants pursuing higher education from an accredited college, university or training facility. The deadlines are June 30th for Fall funding, and December 1st for Spring. Tribal members of Kenai, Knik, Ninilchik, Salamatof and Tyonek must apply directly through their village scholarship programs.
In an agreement with the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, CITC also provides the Alyeska Match Scholarship. Due to a decrease in funding for this academic year, Alaska Native students must either be Engineering or Information Technology majors to be considered for the Alyeska Match Scholarship. Deadlines are June 30th for Fall, December 1st for Spring.
All three scholarships are offered for eligible students that have demonstrated need, meet the eligibility requirements and have complete applications as funding is available. Please review the applications and eligibility requirements before applying.
