-- Native American activist Elouise Cobell died Sunday, October 16, 2011.
---A third white buffalo calf, named Lighting Medicine Cloud because he was born in a thunderstorm, is born on the Lakota Ranch near Dallas, Texas. The Lakota Sioux believe that Whope, the goddess of peace, once appeared in the form of a white buffalo calf, and the belief is that the goddess will return once four such calves are born, bringing in 'a new age', which some believe could be the end of the world.
